The 2015-16 growing season could best be described as "fast and furious". An unusually warm spring encouraged early budburst and continued warm, dry weather through summer resulted in our earliest harvest since 2009.
Several rows of our P58 clone block were selected for their intensely flavoured berries and were left to ripen for a few more days after our first Chardonnay pick. Whole-bunch pressed to oak, fermented with natural yeasts and then left on lees without stirring until bottling in December 2016.

Light straw in colour, still very youthful.
Ripe tropical fruit, typical of the P58 clone, and underlying lemon acidity make a complex mix on the nose and palate. Powerful mid-palate, long and generous on the finish.
An excellent candidate for cellaring--we suggest ten years.
